# The previous posting quoted from a book, The Pitcairners. It sounds like it might be an interesting book to get for those interested in the history of the island.

# Pitcairn Marriage Practices, 1838-39. Interesting blog posting outlining regulations and marriage practices that were put into effect when Pitcairn became a British Crown Colony on 29 November 1838.

# I subscribed to the Pitcairn Miscellany yesterday and got the confirmation and web link today. The Miscellany is a Pitcairn based paper with a monthly publication that discusses events on the island. It's full of interesting news and photo's for those interested in life on Pitcairn. Edited by the island schoolteacher, and sub-edited by the children at the school, it makes a great read. For only $10 a year, well worth the subscription.

She said she could remember the incident clearly, as well as "many more that happened before that age".

# Mike Lupton-Christian asked on the Friends of Pitcairn group if anyone can recommend a good online talk group about Bee Keeping. If anyone can recommend one can you pass the details on to Mike (see his posting in Friends of Pitcairn) or send to me (link at bottom of page) and I'll pass it on.

# Pitcairn Gold. Luke Evans mentioned on the Friends of Pitcairn mailing list that he has published a short story about Pitcairn called 'Pitcairn Gold'. Also at his site is a Pitcairn calendar.

# Pitcairn man groped girl, court hears BugMeNot.

The Pitcairn Island's former magistrate, Jay Warren, put his hand down the front of a 12-year-old girl's bikini bottom, a court has been told.

# 'Closed Community Mentality' on Pitcairn, Says Abuse Trial Witness.

A woman testifying against two men she claims raped her as a child said she couldnu2019t tell anyone about the assaults because of the closed community mentality on the remote Pacific island of Pitcairn.

# Pitcairn woman says she could tell nobody about 'attacks'. Lots more detail in this article.

The incident allegedly occurred in Bounty Bay, the picturesque small cover where Fletcher christian and his fellow mutineers burned their ship two centuries ago to cover their traces.
