# Reading the various news reports today it seems that the court on Pitcairn will still be delivering its findings on the 25th October but no convictions for any charges found will be entered. This would mean the people concerned will be free until a further court hearing early in 2005 to rule on issues raised by the defence. It also appears that the prison offices that were to arrive from New Zealand will now not be needed until after the results of the 2005 court hearing.

The court is due to deliver its verdicts next week but has already said it can not send any of the men to jail before another court hearing.
That matter is to be heard in Auckland next year and will decide if Britain failed to publicise or police its laws on Pitcairn.

# Pitcairn islanders may not face jail time.

Prison officers who were preparing to travel to the island next week from New Zealand have been told they may not be needed until next year, Television New Zealand (TVNZ) reported.

# Dramatic twist in Pitcairn.

Seven Pitcairn Islanders on trial on sexual abuse charges will not be jailed even if convicted until another court rules whether British law should apply in the remote Pacific colony.
