# The Head Heeb on the Pitcairn Judgements.

# Island of Lost Girls BugMeNot.

If there's a Paradise, it should be Pitcairn Island. The island, a mile-by-mile-and-a-half crag of dark volcanic rock marooned in the middle of the South Pacific, is home to just 47 people, mostly descendants of the famed mutineers from the British ship Bounty. The islanders pass their days hoeing peppers and sweet potatoes, fishing for shark from flat-bottomed canoes, and shooting down breadfruit from the trees with their muskets.

# Sum of All Human Knowledge blog posts about Pitcairn Island.

Ever heard of the Pitcairn Islands? I was familiar with the word, but I would have been hard-pressed to tell you the location or history of this island nation until very recently. I spotted a few stories on the BBC News website and a few other places that led me to do a little more hunting around on the Internet.

# The language of Pitcairn. Describes the Pitcairn native language which is a mix of Tahitian and English. Part of a larger site about Pitcairn.

# The news is full of stories about the sentencing. Here's more links reporting pretty much what has already been mentioned in previous posts:

# Looking to the future for Pitcairn Island.

Where to now for Pitcairn Island? Four of its men have been sentenced to jail for child sex abuse, and another two have suspended sentences hanging over them.

# Vegetation and Flora of Pitcairn Islands. From a Friends of Pitcairn post came a pointer to this site. It has pictures and descriptions of the vegetation and flora of Pitcairn.

# Pitcairn Island mayor gets three years for child rape.

They do things differently on Pitcairn Island. In London, Steve Christian would have been jailed for 10 to 15 years for raping children. Yesterday, in Britain's South Pacific outpost, he received a sentence of three years - and was told he could apply for parole after 12 months.
