# Interview with new Pitcairn Island Mayor.
If the island wants to move on, then every one of us will have to pull together, regardless of the past. I do know that there's a lot of talk, and it's gone out onto the world many a times, if our men do have to go down, we can't survive. But you're looking at a negative side, because the island can survive with people who's prepared to make it survive.

Pitcairn Island's new mayor condemned the sex crimes that have divided their tiny Pacific community of descendants from HMS Bounty mutineers, and urged islanders to put the past behind them.
