# Herb Ford of the Pitcairn Islands Study Center has sounded the call for donations to help in the building of a boat shed at The Landing on Pitcairn Island. This will be used to protect the fishing canoes which are essential for obtaining the protein part of the Pitcairn diet. The target is $12,000 and donations can be made and progress tracked through the Boat Shed Global Giving project. The link to the project includes some great photo's of Pitcairn in the Photo Gallery.

Boats used daily to catch fish, a key diet nutrition need, must be protected from frequent storms that lash this tiny isle of "Mutiny on the Bounty" fame. Current shed is completely deteriorated.
