# I recently purchased a copy of "Pitcairn: The Island, The People, and the Pastor" and it arrived today. The copy I have was published around 1860 and is in quite good condition. It looks to have lots of good information and pictures in it. it's a bit fragile but I'll put snippets up here when I can. From the book is a picture of John Adams, Pitcairn Island and a fold out facsimile of a prayer in John Adams' handwriting, as given to the author of the book by John Adams' grandson, also called John Adams. The text of the prayer is:

"For the Lord's Day Morning Suffer me not o Lord to waste this day in Sin or folly But let me worship thee with much delight teach me to know more of thee and to serve thee better than ever I have done before that I may be fitter to dwell in heaven, where thy worship and service are everlasting Amen John Adams"

# Norfolk Island: A Fragile Independance.

The tiny Australian territory of Norfolk Island, which has been putting on a party to mark a very significant anniversary.
It's 150 years to the day since descendants of the Bounty mutineers established a new home on the island, bringing their own brand of independence.
Today, though, the island's independence is under threat because the local government is running out of money.

# More Pitcairn Islanders in court on sex charges.
