# There is a quilt on eBay made by Pitcairn Island resident Nadine Christian. It is auction number 260204703999 and is currently going for $250.00. It finishes on 28 January 2008, 12:16pm. From the auction:

This quilt is lovingly hand peiced and stitched by artist Nadine Christian who lives on one of the most remote Islands in the world - Pitcairn Island. It's a Queen sized quilt that would brighten any room. It is about 2-3 centimetres thick so it really is made for snuggling under on a cold day.

This item was also featured with the artist in the "Pitcairn Miscellany" which is a school paper run by the School Teacher on island. This paper is read by thousands worldwide. A laminated copy of this edition will be included with the quilt.

Nadine works at her needlework in between daily life on Pitcairn Island situated in the Pacific Ocean with her four children and husband. Her inspiration is taken from the island's rich history, flora and fauna.

Shipping/Mail is intermittant to say the least so be prepared to wait for your parcel, but it will be worth the wait!

# Bounty Day is a chance for Pitcairners and their descendants to remember the day the HMS Bounty was burnt and sunk at Pitcairn Island on January 23rd, 1790. I attended the Wellington Bounty Day celebration and wrote a small bit about it on my personal weblog. I'll write more about it here soon.
